We believe the opposite of poverty is community.

Hope House

We increase the well-being of vulnerable adults, youth and children through the provision of immediate relief and ongoing support.

At Hope House we know that poverty, food insecurity, and health are all interconnected.

Programs and Services

What We Do

We offer services and programs that challenge the stigmas surrounding poverty and allow our community members to maintain their dignity and choice, while simultaneously providing them with tactile skills developed in a community environment, creating long-term skills that facilitate self-sufficiency.

Coldest Night of the Year!

February 22nd, 2025

TWO LOCATIONS FOR 2025!

Guelph’s Coldest Night walk has grown over the years, so that we now need 2 locations!

Those who wish to walk 2 km meet at John F. Ross High School at 1:00pm and start walking at 2:00pm.

Those who wish to walk 5 km meet at GCVI at 4:00pm and begin walking at 5:00pm.

Both groups will still enjoy a warm meal upon their return! Shuttle services between Hope House and both high schools will be available.

Adults who raise $150 and youth who raise $75 will also get a CNOY toque!

“We know that the need in our community has never been greater, and we’re hoping that our community will show up once again to help us reach our fundraising goal of $210,000,” adds Jaya James, Executive Director of Hope House.

Coldest Night is still recruiting Team Captains to gather a group together (co-workers, family,

friends) to walk in support of Hope House. Walkers can also register on their own. And if

walking isn’t an option for you, donations are more than welcome.

For more information, to register or to donate, use the button to take you to the CNOY website.
